On GLP-1 medications, reduced appetite may affect daily protein intake, and adequate protein is associated with better preservation of lean mass. TAKE Nourish delivers 20 to 21g of plant protein per serving depending on flavour, from Tendra fava bean isolate and YESTEIN fermented yeast protein. Sweetened with stevia leaf.*

Across GLP-1 trials the share of weight lost as lean mass depends on the medication: about 26 percent on tirzepatide, and up to 45 percent on semaglutide, with a class-wide average near 30 percent and reported figures ranging from 20 to 50 percent.* Weight loss does not distinguish between fat and lean tissue. Protein intake is one of the few things that does.* Consensus guidance puts protein at 1.0 to 1.2g per kilogram of body weight daily for healthy older adults, and 1.2 to 1.5g where illness is present. For a 75kg person, that is roughly 75 to 90g daily. When appetite drops sharply, reaching that through food alone becomes harder. TAKE Nourish Vanilla provides 20g of plant protein per serving to close the gap.

Weight Loss Does Not Distinguish. Protein Does.

Across 24 trials, higher protein during energy restriction preserved 0.43kg more fat-free mass than standard protein. The authors describe that effect as modest, and we will use their word rather than a better one.* It is also one of the few levers anyone has shown to work.

Which medication you are on changes the number: on semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) the share of weight lost as lean mass can run close to half, while on tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) it sits nearer a quarter. In the SURMOUNT-1 DXA substudy the placebo group lost the same ratio as tirzepatide, 25 percent against 26 percent, so this is weight loss behaving as weight loss rather than the medication doing something unusual. It is also worth knowing that fat-free mass measured by DXA includes water, glycogen and connective tissue, so it is not skeletal muscle alone.

GLP-1 medications make it easier to eat less. They also make it harder to consume enough protein to support the lean mass your body relies on for strength, mobility, and long-term metabolic health.* When appetite drops, protein is usually the first thing to disappear from the plate.

Most protein powders are designed for people eating full meals.TAKE Nourish was built for smaller appetites.

That distinction shapes everything about the formula. Serving size, digestive tolerability, protein source, and the way it sits in a smaller stomach. TAKE Nourish was formulated around blended protein sources and digestive comfort rather than simply maximizing grams per serving. A 30g scoop is not much use if you cannot finish it.

No dairy. No whey. No soy. Gentle enough for daily use.

Protein Is One Of Three

Three things influence how much of what you lose is fat rather than muscle. Adequate protein. Resistance movement. And creatine to support that work.*

Nourish covers the first, and it is the one with the strongest evidence behind it. TAKE Build covers the third. The second is yours, and it does not require a gym. The Strength System is the two of ours in one order, with electrolytes.

Ingredient Breakdown

Tendra Fava Bean Protein IsolateFava protein measures a DIAAS of 0.67 in cooked whole beans, limited by histidine. That is below the threshold for a high-quality standalone protein, which is why Nourish blends rather than relying on one source.* Selected for tolerability during periods of reduced appetite.
YESTEIN Fermented Yeast ProteinA yeast protein produced through fermentation rather than traditional plant extraction. We have not been able to locate peer-reviewed human data on this branded ingredient, and the wider yeast protein literature is preclinical and points toward blending rather than sole reliance. It is here as part of a blend for that reason.
Apple PectinA soluble fiber source. On the Vanilla panel it sits below the level at which a dietary fiber amount is declared, so we are not going to sell you Vanilla as a fiber product. The Chocolate formula declares 1g. If fiber is what you are after, TAKE Flow is the product built for it.
MCT OilA rapidly metabolized energy source that supports sustained daily energy without relying on large food volumes.*

Chocolate And Vanilla Are Not The Same Formula

The differences, in fullVanilla delivers 20g of protein per 35g serving, with 4g of sugars and no declared dietary fiber. Chocolate delivers 21g per 34.7g serving, with 1g of sugars, 1g of fiber, and small declared amounts of vitamin D, iron, phosphorus and magnesium that Vanilla does not carry. Chocolate contains sunflower lecithin and two cocoa powders; Vanilla contains silicon dioxide instead. Both are 24 servings, both are vegan, and neither contains dairy, whey, soy or gluten. We publish this because the two are marketed as one product and they are not.

How To Take It

ServingThe 20g protein figure is per serving, and a serving is two scoops (35g). Mix with 6 to 8 oz of water or your preferred beverage. 24 servings per tub.

Common Questions

Will protein stop me losing muscle on a GLP-1?Nothing stops it entirely. Some lean mass loss accompanies any significant weight loss, and the share depends on the medication: about 26 percent on tirzepatide and up to 45 percent on semaglutide, with a class-wide average near 30 percent. What the evidence supports is that higher protein intake during energy restriction is associated with preserving more fat-free mass than standard protein intake, by a modest but consistent margin across 24 trials. Protein and resistance movement are the two levers with the strongest evidence behind them.*
How much protein should I eat on Ozempic? Most evidence-based guidelines recommend 1.0 to 1.2g of protein per kilogram of body weight daily during active weight loss, rising to 1.5g where illness is present. For a 75kg person, that is roughly 75 to 90g daily, a target that becomes harder to reach through food alone when appetite drops.*
Does TAKE Nourish contain soy?No. Soy is not declared on the Supplement Facts panel, and soy is a major allergen under US labeling law that would have to be declared if it were present as an ingredient. If you have a soy allergy and want certainty about the fermentation process behind YESTEIN, email us and we will share what our manufacturer tells us.
Should I choose Chocolate or Vanilla?Chocolate carries slightly more protein and less sugar, at 21g and 1g against Vanilla's 20g and 4g, and it declares 1g of fiber where Vanilla declares none. Vanilla is the more neutral base if you plan to blend it into other things. Both are 24 servings, both vegan, neither contains dairy, whey, soy or gluten.
What should I look for in a protein powder on a GLP-1?Look for blended protein sources rather than a single one, because most individual plant proteins are limited in at least one amino acid. Also check the serving size. Most protein powders are formulated for people eating full meals, not for reduced intake.*
Why plant protein instead of whey?Plant and fermented proteins can be gentler on digestion, which matters when GLP-1 medications already slow gastric emptying. TAKE Nourish blends fava bean and fermented yeast protein, because single plant proteins are each limited in at least one amino acid.*
How many servings are in a tub?24 servings. If you use it every day you may want a delivery interval slightly shorter than a month.*
